Review:
The first official trailer for Cujo (2025) has arrived—and it’s as nerve-shredding and claustrophobic as fans of Stephen King’s iconic novel could hope for. Directed by modern horror master Mike Flanagan, this reimagining of the 1983 classic takes the fear of isolation, helplessness, and primal rage to terrifying new levels.

The trailer opens with sunny suburban peace—children playing, dogs barking, and a mother (played by Elisabeth Moss) loading her son (a mature, brooding Finn Wolfhard) into the family car. But the tone shifts fast: a strange growl, a flicker of movement in the tall grass, and a close-up of a blood-splattered windshield. The trailer wastes no time letting us know—this is not a slow burn. This is survival horror.

When a rabid St. Bernard—once a family pet—becomes a relentless force of nature, Moss’s character and her son find themselves trapped in a broken-down car in the middle of nowhere. As the heat rises, their cell service dies, and the dog circles like a beast from hell, the trailer builds pulse-pounding tension with flickers of flashbacks, desperate screams, and gruesome near-misses.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan appears in a supporting role as the town sheriff, investigating a string of mysterious animal attacks leading up to the central nightmare. His gravelly voice in the trailer’s voiceover adds to the chilling sense of inevitability:
“Something’s wrong out here. And it’s not just the dog.”

Visually, Cujo (2025) is stark and suffocating. Flanagan trades cheap jump scares for slow-building dread—sweat dripping, breath fogging, and scratched steel doors tell more than any scream. The cinematography makes the confined space of the car feel like a tomb, while the glimpses of the blood-crazed Cujo are timed perfectly for maximum terror.
